ECOTEC strengthens drinking water treatment in Algeria with lamella supply for the Bouira and Koudiet plants
ECOTEC has recently completed a new supply of lamella clarification systems for two drinking water treatment plants in Algeria, located in Bouira and Koudiet.
This project further consolidates the company’s presence in the country, where ECOTEC now reaches a total of six lamella installations: Corso, Béjaïa, Cap Djinet, El Tarf, and now Bouira and Koudiet.
The supply provided by ECOTEC included:
- 1,480 m³ of TS.85 lamella modules in PPTV, certified WRAS and ACS for drinking water applications.
- Structural support in GRP, with metal components in AISI 316 for high durability and corrosion resistance.
Installation distributed across:
- 12 tanks measuring 7.45 × 16.5 m
- 1 tank measuring 8.9 × 7 m
Commissioning activities and technical testing are currently underway, ensuring that both facilities will reinforce Algeria’s national drinking water supply in a context of increasing water scarcity.
The contribution of ECOTEC enhances the pretreatment and clarification stage, a key process to optimize downstream performance and guarantee the quality of the treated water.
A Consolidated Track Record: Six Plants Equipped in Algeria
With this new project, ECOTEC now totals six lamella installations in Algeria, spanning both desalination and drinking water treatment plants:
- Corso (SWRO)
- Béjaïa (SWRO)
- Cap Djinet (SWRO)
- El Tarf (SWRO)
- Bouira (WTP)
- Koudiet (WTP)
These facilities form part of Algeria’s national strategy to strengthen drinking water security amid reduced rainfall, demographic pressure, and the need to supply fast-growing urban areas.
